Annual Santa Claus Pub Crawl

Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009

The annual Santa Pub Crawl is back and bigger than ever! Last year we had more than 170 people dressed as Santa and various other holiday characters, and this year will be bigger and better! More prizes -- more fun! No covers when  dressed as Santa or festive holiday characters!

Cost of admission is a $10 unwrapped toy (or a $10 monetary donation), which will be donated to Montgomery County Children Services and Toys for Tots. The toys/money can be dropped off at The Dublin Pub or The Trolley Stop.

Costume contests are getting better every year! Dress up and be creative! Prizes are at stake! 

The schedule is:

santa_crawl_6.jpgDublin Pub: 6 to 7:30 p.m. (drop off toys)
Trolley Stop: 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. (drop off Toys and sober group picture)
Blind Bob's: 8:30  to 10 p.m. (contest winners announced)
Tumbleweed: 10 to 11 p.m. (holiday shot specials)
Oregon Express: 11 p.m. to midnight (great dance band)
Newcoms/Ned Peppers: midnight to closing (more dancing)

Each bar will have drink specials, TBA.

The beginning of every month starts with a bang in downtown Dayton. First Friday is a free art held from 5 to 10 p.m. in various locations throughout downtown, including: 

Color of Energy Gallery, 16 Brown St.;
• Summer Space, 207 E. Sixth St.;
Gallery 510 Fine Art, 510 E. Fifth St.;
Link Gallery, 519 E. Fifth St.;
• Goloka Gallery, 523 E. Fifth St;
Cannery Art and Design Center, 434 E. Third St.;
Dayton Visual Arts Center, 118 N. Jefferson St.;
• H. David Clay Studio, 33 S. St. Clair St.;
• Sandra’s Art Emporium, 27 S. St. Clair St.; and
c{space, 20 N. Jefferson St.

First Friday features exhibit openings at the numerous galleries, along with a rotating variety of entertainment options, as well as the restaurants, bars, comedy club, movie theater and more that make up the downtown mix.

8th Annual Oregon Arts District Barstool Open

This year's event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009. This nine-hole, nine-bar progressive indoor miniature golf outing always is a crazy-fun time! All proceeds benefit United Rehabilitation Services to help children and adults with disabilities. 

Cash prizes will be awarded to the winning team and a special prize to the team with the best costume! Teams start in different bars during the shotgun start at 11:30 a.m.

To register, see bartenders at participating locations, which will be announced soon. Other details also coming soon!

HAUNTFEST ON FIFTH

Don’t miss Dayton’s most sensational Halloween bash! This fun and feisty street party is back and better than ever! New this year is a craft beer and wine garden. As always, HauntFest will feature live music, street performers, a costume contest and more.
